This week, Kolvi, a domestic boiler manufacturer, completed the delivery of a KM-2-12000-T/Gs block-modular transportable boiler house with a nominal installed heat output of 12 mW for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The company said in a statement.
Distributed (decentralized) heat supply, as one of the key elements of Ukraine's energy sustainability, relates not only to facilities that serve household consumers but also to the infrastructure that supports the functioning of government agencies.
Given that the aggressor has not abandoned the tactics of humanitarian terror in the fall and winter, destroying energy facilities, distributed generation is gaining importance as an element of national security, as the time to restore heat supply after an accident or damage is reduced to days.
The boiler house consists of five transportable containers with boiler equipment - Kolvi 4000 KE boilers and auxiliary equipment that ensures automatic operation.
The project's peculiarity is its implementation period, which actually took a month from the moment the ground was laid to delivery to the site.
According to the company, the boiler house's capacity is sufficient to heat premises of up to 150,000 square meters.
“By eliminating long-distance and large-diameter pipelines, we reduce heat carrier losses in the networks, which also provides a saving effect, which is extremely important for the energy balance in the context of natural gas imports from the EU,” explains Kolvi CEO Oleksandr Kroshka.
In terms of installation, the boiler house containers are installed with a support frame on a prepared strip foundation made of monolithic concrete, and technological connections of equipment and communications are made. The boiler house is designed to operate automatically without the constant presence of maintenance personnel.
“Rapid-readiness containers in emergency circumstances, in which our energy sector has been operating since the full-scale invasion, the boiler house can be ready to operate within one to two days, provided that the foundation is in place. We are proud that we were able to implement this project quickly and efficiently at Ukrainian facilities for the needs of the Defense Ministry,” concluded Kolvi CEO Oleksandr Kroshka.
